With this release, the option to be asked whether a site can place a cookie is removed. Now, you can only accept either all or none, with the possibility to exclude certain URLs only via a manual list. Is this removed on purpose?

 No, really?, if thats true Iron has just taken a step backwards in time. Or has this been forced by Google?. I will stay with the previous version I have for now if this is true.

I'm now running Chromium 9.0.565.0 (63876) and that one too removed the possiblity to be asked about cookies. This is not an Iron specific downgrade I guess.

Curiosity got the better of me and decided to give it a go anyway keeping the old installer just in case.... I cant find any problem with cookies, still has the options under the spanner icon, still respects my choices, cleans them out if I only allow them until browser closes, still has the exceptions list ..... The only thing I recall that changed recently was with regards Incognito mode where the new behaviour stops the user being able to allow anything in Incognito mode, the idea being if using that mode nothing should be allowed to be set by anyone including the user, but in normal mode the cooky icon pops up in the Omnibar as usual and presents options not greyed out. Everything seems fine here <shrugs>

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, i added 2 screenshots. Nevermind the language, you can see there's a radiobutton missing (for me at least) in Iron 7. This is the way Iron 7 cookie option shows directly after navigating there after "installing" (in quotes, since i use the portable version). I have never touched incognitomodus in either Ironversions.

Oh right I see - We now have Allow, or Ask me, but no Block all completely. Hmm, I am still happy, I prefer ask me anyway ( with the dialogue that pops up there is a drop down button so you can just choose to allow until you close your browser, instead of until the year 9999 :) ).

Then if I am un-happy/un-sure of all the cookies collected so far that I have allowed on a more permanent basis - I just go to the exceptions button for cookies in options and delete the lot of em - effectively starting the process of learning my choices again (like a spam filter for emails).

Oh wait, no you are right we have lost Ask me - SRWare?, whats the story on this one?

I am pretty sure that section of the options refers to locally shared objects (ie Flash type cookies - which are more offensive than normal http cookies), so the loss to fine control over those is quite a shocking one - I agree.

Further to my last post, I am guessing if you block all, you will be presented with a notification Icon in the omnibar to which you could allow?, and then at a later date delete the exception?
