Libmoon (Moonlight) problems..

Post by ABNormal »

i installed iron but iron didn't open

i've tried inside terminal and this error appeared:
Attempting to load the system libmoon
Segmentation fault

libmoon belongs to MOONLIGHT
i had to uninstall libmoon and now iron goes

is this a bug?

Personally I would say libmoon is the bug, if you didn't know moonlight is the linux equivalent of Microsofts Silverlight, MS jumping on the adobe flash bandwagon, "Exciting media opportunities" and all that obfuscated advertising waffle meaning more ways to scam users without them realising it and a thousand and one ways to store shared objects... Of course being an Iron user you know from whence I come with this diarhoea, I would say you took the sensible course of action. ;)

i agree on Silverlight. but my national TV broadcaster uses that damn flash system and i need to watch programs from thier site... so moonlight (& libmoon) are important for me.
iron is a great browser, and iron programmers should be able to avoid this problem, i suppose
