The recent .lnk exploit, are chrome forks vulnerable in any way?. I know we have sandboxed processes, but are there any other vectors which could be made use of, fav icons for instance. Or is this exploit not a concern for Iron users?

Well, I'm not well versed with these kind of things. I'm just an average PC user, so I can't answer your question.

However, if you would like, you can use the tool that Sophos released to the public that can protect your PC from being exploited. Or at least it claims to do so.

Here's the link: http://www.sophos.com/security/topic/shortcut.html

Or you can search 'Sophos lnk tool' on Google (that's what I did) if you'd rather not use my url.

Thanks Chikon, but I just used Linux for any internet access until Microsoft released the patch - It was more of a question on behalf of anyone else with the same thought and stuck with an MS windows machine only... But the patch released in windows updates night before last came before any answers so <shrugs> doesn't matter now.
