As a note sometimes, you will need to create the opt folder. That can be accomplished by:
1. cd /
2. sudo mkdir /opt

Version 5 is a definite improvement over 4.
To get adblock to work in version 5 for MacOS 10.6.4, I had to create the /opt folder. It did not exist.
The link in this thread to install the add-on for chrome was for chrome version 6 and would not install in Iron 5.0.381 for mac.
So following these instructions will work if you create the /opt folder first.
Try it this way:
-Open command line
-Type: sudo nano /opt/adblock.ini
-Paste the content of
http://www.srware.net/downloads/adblock.ini in the editor and save the file
-Restart iron

Will there be a version 7 of iron for the MAC OSX as well? has the continuous build of iron for the MAC discontinued...I haven't seen an update for the MAC in months...
I recommended Iron for my MAC friends now all of them have outdated browsers. a reponse would be appreciated . thanks.
here wishing continuos support/build for the iron in OSX...and thank you for version 5
