Thank you for the new version.

Although I do not have any concrete evidence, I feel this new version is slower than previous ones. Maybe you can optimize it more for better performance and speed.

dear @srware,

1. could you make Iron remember history forever, or at least 1-2 years and not 3 months like chrome/chromium does?
2. could you have a try at applying this patch that enables an 'open' button for download dialog? http://browser.taokaizen.com/download/patch.txt

I have been using Iron for years and think it is the best browser out there. Thank you.

If I could make a suggestion. When updating to a new version I have found that Iron resets some settings back to default. This occurs with cookie and the password & forms settings under advanced settings. Could you please preserve the settings rather than resetting them to default for future updates?

Thanks again.

I have just encountered another issue of "cannot set Iron as default browser", in Win10 Home 64x. 2 options, among others, were given on Iron: (1) Chromium and (2) SRWare Iron. None of which is effective when selected.

Can't set to default on W10-64 either. Tried it just like I did in previous versions, ,,, but won't go on this one. After trying a few times, my options are now EMAIL Chromium. Default browser in W10 says Chromium.

I do not get a SRWARE option.

Thanks for the new update, I just have some observations:

I have two Windows 10 partitions, on both I could not set to default in the previous version, as others mentioned above, until I upgraded to the latest Creators update (on one partition I was able to simply upgrade, which fixed the problem, on the other I had to do a fresh reinstall of Windows to fix things).

Having said that, even though I was able to set Iron to default, I have two questions:

1-It was already set to default, why should the update ask this question again?

2-This 58 update created a duplicate Chromium entry under choosing an application, the second is the wrong one, the first worked.

In the past I solved problems with Iron updates by first uninstalling Iron before installing the update, this usually fixed most issues, though it sometimes lost my personal settings. I forgot to do it this time. Perhaps we should do this every time?

The update did not reset my cookie settings under advanced settings, as others mention.
In all this I suspect some kind of Windows 10 issue compatibility issue with Iron, somehow.

I got it to work for me. Here is how I did it. Uninstalled 58.0.3050.0 -64 from W10-64 with REVO UNINSTALLER. Rebooted machine. (I did not uninstall the previous ver. first). Went to set for default. I set EMAIL to Chromium, ... and I set BROWSER to CHROMIUM. IRON was also listed for browser, but I did not select that this time. Everything then went perfectly.

After installing the 3050, I now get the following message when attempting to run Iron:

Your profile can not be used because it is from a newer version of Iron.

Some features may be unavailable. Please specify a different profile
directory or use a newer version of Iron.

[checkbox] Send feedback to help us fix this issue.

Also it fails to load my previously open tabs, which is has been set to do for months.

Please advise. What in the world happened this update?

Doesn't seem very "stable" to me... though it may have something to do with the updater switching me from the 32-bit version to the 64-bit. Also, the Iron updater extension is gone from the browser. I don't see anything in the upper right anymore.

Installed to the right directory?
Can you please make a reboot and try again to launch?
