New Iron-Release: 5.0.326 Alpha for Windows

Based on the improvements in Chromium 5, we made a preview of Iron 5, too. Because of it's early development state we just call it an "alpha" version.
Improvements were mainly made at privacy-functions. You can e.g. disable Javascript at some websites or automatically delete your history at exit.

PS:
This is an early alpha, so don't be worried about potential errors, problems or loss of data.

Odd rendering glitches due to things being blocked by adblock.ini are still present. Will this be fixed?

For example,

The 'last pass' extension installs but will not log in. The log in button is dead on the login page. I remember this happening on the chromium build also at this point. Unfortunately this is a major problem for passwords.

When are you people going to add Google Chrome AND IRON as Browser Data Imports?
This having to redo everything each time I add a new profile, or a new Iron version (I'm still using the stable 4.0.280 as well), is getting to be a real pain in the butt!
It can't be that difficult!

It rocks! fast, stable, new features

backup before (for sure)

1) Backup bookmarks (key icon - settings - bookmarks manager - tools - export bookmarks to html file)

2) copy (not move) these folders and store in other place
[C_Program Files_SRWare Iron]
[C_Users_Admin_AppData_Local_Chromium]

3) Install from 5.0.326.0 exe installer (over older Iron)

4) Try to run Iron .... should be everything ok

5) If not (bookmarks, themes, settings .... are lost) .... copy only that specific files from your backup to their places
(older ones over new Iron files)

6) Done

Using the Installer version of Alpha here aswell - No problems so far. My bookmarks/passwords etc are all as they were before. Love the new features, especially globally blocking everything only to be made an exception when I decide. Javascript for example, I am having no problems browsing in general with this left permanently blocking every site I look at, even posting here is no problem without javascript... seems we only "need" such things when a site is using advertising because right now its not preventing me doing anything I want to. Thanks for this SRWare, its starting to be a revelation in browsing.
