Re: New Iron-Version: 4.0.275 Beta for Linux
Hello,
Great news !
But as older version, why dont you supply static linked lib necessary to make it run ?
Getting the source is - as someone already told - painful on rapidstuff -
Iron seems to be very usefull but i still can't run it....'browser of the futur' i hope
- joke
On a Debian Lenny x86_64
The same for older - 32 bits - versions of iron.
Best.

Code: Select all
./iron
./iron: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by ./iron)
./iron: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.8' not found (required by ./iron)

Did you try the 64bit Build or the 32bit with "apt-get install ia32-libs"?tyler durden wrote: Iron seems to be very usefull but i still can't run it....'browser of the futur' i hope- joke

Re: New Iron-Version: 4.0.275 Beta for Linux
hello,
It's the 64bit Build.
But i got the same on the 32bit build.
The ia32-libs are already installed.
You know it's debian,
the version of libc iron needs to work is far to high.
Anyway thanks for the link, i'll check that.
For the record : With the 32bit Build
Best.

Re: New Iron-Version: 4.0.275 Beta for Linux
Thank you for making the best browser on the planet!
However, I noticed a strange problem with extensions and themes added to this Linux version. All my preferences for extensions, and the themes I install vanish after I click 'Clear Browsing Data' from under the Options window. Attached is a screenshot of what I items I select to clear. There are no extension preferences or themes as part of this window, yet these are lost on clearing.
I personally think this should not be the desired behaviour when I someone hits 'Clear Browsing Data'. As a result, I'm not able to clear all the items in this window in order to retain my theme and extension preferences. Please let me know if I'm going wrong somewhere.
Mentioned below is my configuration used.
OS: Ubuntu Linux 9.10
Iron Browser version: 4.0.275.2 (35171)

An update to the extension preferences getting lost: This happens in the latest Windows (beta) version [4.0.275.2 (35162)] of Iron too!
Re: New Iron-Version: 4.0.275 Beta for Linux

Awesome project. Many thanks to the developers/hackers.
The new and 64-bit version of Iron Linux works great by me; just experienced some "oh snap" errors on Gmail and some other sites which I will have to investigate.
Re: New Iron-Version: 4.0.275 Beta for Linux
I can't get flash to work with 64-bit. While 32-bit worked by creating plugins directory and copying libflashplayer.so, now i get AW-SNAP message when trying to access youtube.com.
I've downloaded 64-bit libflashplayer.so and done everything like 32-bit but no luck.
