Hello developers.
I wish that I spoke German, as I'm sure it would make reading this easier.
Firstly, *thank you* and *dankeshoen* for creating a clean alternative to Chrome.
I like Chrome, and have been using Google's Chrome Beta for Linux, 32 bit.
I live in a place (The United States) that is becoming a police state, and I do not wish to be tracked, despite being a good citizen.
I love my country, but I don't love what Republicans have done to it, giving up civil liberties.
I am an American of German heritage, and I am concerned about the direction that my government is taking with regard to spying on it's citizens.
I value my privacy, and I am grateful that you good folks thought to change this nice browser to make it better, more private.
Thank you for your work and efforts.
Unfortunately, I'm having a problem running the 32 bit Beta of Iron, version 4.0.275.
I get this error:
Code: Select all
[renifer@pc]$ ./iron
./iron: error while loading shared libraries: libbz2.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I have installed
zfstream in order to provide the libraries to run Iron:
Code: Select all
[renifer@pc]$ ls -la |grep libbz2*
Binary file libbz2.so.1.0.4 matches
However, this did not work, and I continue to get the same error, despite having zfstream, and libbz2 installed, which provides support for compressed files.
Maybe I need to do a symlink? Not sure how to fix this.
My Fedora kernel: 2.6.30.10-105.2.16.fc11.i686.PAE
Let me know what I need to do to fix this. I am very anxious to get this working. Thanks in advance for your help.
Is there a link to the source code? I might try compiling it myself so that I can be sure that everything that the program needs is linked.
