same problem. can activate window controls and even base browser settings but they lead nowhere, just darkness.

..and yes, i have 64-bit cpu with 64-bit W7 running.

[InternetShortcut] URL=http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2654588 I've had this problem a lot as well since I try to set my .URL associations to run Portable browsers off a Ramdisk. You have to use shdocv...

i'm on W7, so you don't get at file types that way (it's "default programs" in CP), but i went into the registry and found this:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\IronPortable.exe\shell\open\command

set to: "C:\laptop software\IronPortable\IronPortable.exe" "%1"

so i think that's fine..

hi, when i click on .url files all i get is a blank page with the name of the file painted on the page and nothing else. i thought this was becuase i was using the portable one and not the proper installed version (but why not have the portable version opening up .url files???), so i installed it fu...

it's not that, it is a simple problem of iron portable not being able to read .url files..

iron portable cannot open .url files

is this going to be fixed?

will iron portable in the future be upgraded to be able to read url files successfuly?

because they do not, right now and it is VERY annoying!!!

how can i use URL shortcuts with portable?

when i try and click on internet shortcuts it just opens like 4 ot 5 tabs with some text in them and never goes to the URL?

what to do???

i can however drag a link shortcut into a blank tab and it loads the page fine, so the problem lies with interpreting a saved desktop shortcut url to a page..
